With 12 panels Art Basel’s renowned talks series will once again bring together leading artists, gallerists, collectors, art historians, curators, museum directors and critics from across the world.
Together with the redesigned floorplan and enhanced layout, the upgraded facilities will provide a premier platform for the exhibiting galleries. This year, the renovation of the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) will be concluded, with the expected completion of the parks as a next phase of the project to be realized in the coming years. With more than half of its participants having exhibition spaces in the Americas, Art Basel in Miami Beach is the leading art show of the region. The sector will be curated by Magali Arriola. This year’s edition will see the launch of a major new sector called Meridians, dedicated to large-scale sculptures, paintings, installations, video and performance that push the boundaries of the traditional art fair layout. Visitors can find works ranging from editioned pieces by young artists to museum-caliber masterpieces. Over 200 of the world’s leading international Modern and contemporary art galleries display artworks by over 4,000 artists, including paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, film, video and digital art. The 18th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach takes place in the newly renovated Miami Beach Convention Centre from 5-8 December 2019.
